Revenue from the three commercial casinos in Detroit, Michigan fell 1.1% year-on-year to $104.9m (£84.3m/€97.7m) in August, while the city also reported a month-on-month drop.
Monthly aggregate revenue was lower than $106.1m in August 2022. The monthly total was also 2.2% behind the $107.2m reported in Detroit in July this year.
Breaking this down, $104.6m came from table games and slots, up 0.1% on last year. Sports betting qualified adjusted gross receipts (QAGR) hit $322,186 and handle $10.0m.
MGM retains the lead in Detroit
MGM remains the market leader in Detroit with a 47% market share. The casino reported $49.5m in slots and table games revenue and $85,644 in sports betting QAGR.
MotorCity was second with a 30% market share. Slots and table games revenue hit $30.7m and wagering QAGR $195,955.
Hollywood Casino at Greektown rounded off Detroit’s market with a 23% market. The casino posted $24.4m in casino revenue and $40,587 in sports betting QAGR.
