Entain chairman Gibson retires after two years on operator’s board

Entain has announced that non-executive chairman Barry Gibson has retired from this post with immediate effect.
Gibson was appointed as chairman in February 2020, after joining the board of directors in November 2019. He succeeded the previous long-term incumbent Lee Feldman.

Gibson was also director of home improvements business HomeServe, a position which he also retired from today.

Prior to joining Entain, Gibson served as a non-executive director at William Hill, as well as and senior independent director of Bwin.party, which was later acquired by GVC, which became Entain.

Before this, he also held senior roles at the likes of Somerfield and National Express in his experienced career, in addition to being group retailing director at the British Airports Authority, and group chief executive of retailer Littlewoods.

Gibson has overseen Entain’s recent expansion, including its rebrand from GVC and the selections of both Shay Segev and Jette Nygaard-Andersen as chief executive fo..

Other recent activities include Entain’s £1.96bn bid to acquire Australian operator Tabcorp’s Wagering and Media division.

Today, Entain’s PartyCasino and PartyPoker brands also announced a new partnership with Formula 1 team McLaren Racing.
