First to report was Las Vegas Sands. Last month, the group said growth in Macau helped to drive revenue up 39.6% to $2.96bn in Q1.

Operations in the region generated $1.81bn in revenue, an increase of 41.6% from last year.

Sands’ Venetian Macau proved the most successful venue here with revenue up by 28.2% to $771m. It also noted growth across the Londoner Macau, Parisian Macau, Plaza Macau and Four Seasons Macau facilities.

Elsewhere in Macau, Melco Resorts & Entertainment this week hailed ongoing recovery. This, it said, helped push group revenue up by 55.2% year-on-year to $1.11bn, with each of its Macau properties reporting growth.

Its City of Dreams venue in Macau was the most successful of its properties, with revenue up 53.8% at $550.9m. Incidentally, growth in Macau also played a key part in Melco returning to net profit in Q1.

Also this week, MGM Resorts International posted record quarterly revenue in China during Q1. Group revenue climbed 13.2% to an all-time high of $4.83bn, with $1.06bn of this total coming from its MGM China segment.
