BetMGM, the joint venture between MGM Resorts International and Entain, has launched an updated version of its sports betting app to coincide with the start of the new NFL season.
The 2023-24 NFL campaign kicked off yesterday (7 September), with the Detroit Lions seeing off the Kansas City Chiefs 21-20. The revamped BetMGM app went live ahead of the game, with users having access to a number of new features.
These include a free-to-enter Survivor Pool, where customers pick a team to win each week of the season. Once a team is selected, they cannot be picked again. The last player standing will win the $100,000 (£80,085/€93,352) jackpot.
Players can also access a Same-Game Parlay+ feature, allowing BetMGM sports betting app users to connect two different same-game parlays into a single bet.
Users travelling across different states where online sports betting is legal can access their BetMGM account. In addition, customers will have access to a range of special offers such as a 50% live odds boost token when betting on teams based in a state where they are located.
BetMGM currently operates in 26 markets across mobile and retail. This includes Kentucky, which opened its retail sports betting market yesterday (7 September) ahead of online launching on 28 September. BetMGM is partnered with Revolutionary Racing Kentucky (RRKY) in the state.
“We developed our state-of-the-art sports betting platform to feature a variety of ways sports fans can engage,” BetMGM CEO Adam Greenblatt said. “The next generation of the BetMGM app is a giant step forward in the sports betting experience. It increases the level of entertainment before, during and after games.”
BetMGM champions responsible gambling with new campaign
Last week, MGM Resorts and BetMGM announced plans to promote their GameSense responsible gaming programme at nine NFL stadiums during the new season.
Las Vegas Raiders’ Allegiant Stadium is among the venues where the group will promote the campaign. GameSense was introduced in 2017 by MGM and focuses on conversations about how to gamble responsibly.
In addition, MGM Resorts and BetMGM have committed to spend more than $1.0m annually to fund a variety of responsible gaming initiatives.
